Where exactly are the cabins located?

Our cabins are in Potter County, Pennsylvania, in the heart of the Pennsylvania Wilds. Most are within a short drive of Cherry Springs State Park, the Susquehannock State Forest ATV trailheads, and the PA Grand Canyon. Exact addresses are provided at booking.

Do I need to book in advance?

Accepted Answer

Yes, especially for summer weekends, fall foliage season, and any weekend around a new moon (prime stargazing nights fill up fast). We recommend booking at least a few weeks out for peak periods.

Is Cherry Springs State Park really that good for stargazing?

Accepted Answer

It's one of the best spots on the East Coast. The park sits at 2,300 feet on a plateau surrounded by Susquehannock State Forest, which keeps light pollution extremely low. On a clear, moonless night the Milky Way is bright enough to cast a shadow. The park has a dedicated astronomy field and hosts star parties throughout the year.

What ATV and UTV trails are nearby?

The Susquehannock State Forest has nearly 1,000 miles of ATV and UTV trails. Denton Hill State Park is a popular trailhead, and Denton Go rents Polaris UTVs on site with direct trail access. Lyman Run State Park also connects to the trail network. Trail maps are available from the Pennsylvania Bureau of Forestry.

Are the cabins dog friendly?

YES! All of our properties are dog-friendly at no additional charge! Sorry, we do not allow cats or other pets at this time.

What is there to do besides stargazing and ATV trails?

Accepted Answer

Quite a bit. The PA Grand Canyon (Pine Creek Gorge) has rim overlooks and a 60-plus-mile rail trail along the creek below. Kinzua Bridge State Park has a glass-floored skywalk over the gorge. Lyman Run has a 45-acre lake for swimming and fishing. Sizerville State Park has hiking loops and a pool. The elk herd near Benezette is one of the largest in the eastern US and worth the drive in fall.
